Oh Christmas Tree... O Christmas Tree...

This year's Christmas tree...

Christmas Tree Looking up
A child's view of our tree.
This year I added an actual topper to our tree. It's a cute little red cardinal.  There are cardinals throughout the tree, but unless you're looking for them you don't really notice them.  Of course, our French horn has to be at the top. It's one of those decorations that is special to us, so no matter what theme I do, the horn will always have a special place at the top of our tree.

Christmas tree... Sparkle
Dark red and gold...
It takes me a long time to decorate our tree. I have Christmas music loaded into the CD player, and I sing along with the oldies as I find the perfect place to put each ornament.  Actually, this year, I didn't load up the CD player and I tried out Pandora or some similar online radio. I don't remember which one.  Anyway, I didn't like it.  Every so often, it would stop playing and ask me if I was still there, because they didn't want to be playing to an empty room.  It threw me off every time, because I had to stop decorating to go click, yes, I'm still here.  So, next year, I'll be using the CD player again.

Also next year, I have some huge ornaments that I'm going to add to the tree. I would add them this year, but I packed up my extra fancy hooks. So, I have something to look forward to for next year. Which is good. It's always good to have something to look forward to.

Too Cute Alert!

Tia went to the groomer today, so she'd be beautiful for Christmas!  I thought I share some pictures we snapped right after I brought her home. I'm not sure why the pictures turned out a little blurry.

I took Tia, our Pomeranian, to the groomer today. She doesn't like to go. It's so hard to leave her there, because she hates it. The groomer says she's fine once I leave, and she never acts like she's been harmed in any way when I return, but you would think that I was abandoning her when I drop her off.

Jasper is not impressed.
Jasper, our cat, is not impressed with the way Tia smells.
Jasper, our cat, came over to check her out when I first brought her home.  Jim and I thought Tia smelled really good, but one look at Jasper's face and you can tell he's not impressed.

Tia loves her bandanna.
Tia seems to be saying, "Make sure you get my good side."
See how happy Tia looks with the candy cane bandanna the groomer gave her! Obviously, she likes the way she looks in it. She's a happy little dog.

Doesn't she look cute? Now we just have to keep her clean until Christmas, so she'll look pretty in her red Christmas coat with the black fur collar.

Ten more days until Christmas!

Do you love art with Roosters?

White Rooster by Loribeth Clark

I don't know why I like art with roosters so much, but I do. All of the rooster art I've done before has been done with colorful roosters, so I wanted to do something softer.

It took me four days to complete this one. I think the hardest thing was deciding what to put at the bottom, because it seemed empty to me. I finally settled on "Le Coq", which is "The Rooster" in French.  It seemed appropriate with the French label I chose.

Title: "White Rooster"
Size: 8x10 print on 8.5x11 inch paper
Orientation: Portrait
Paper: Professional, artist grade, acid-free, textured
